Free Squeeze Page
A free squeeze page can save you $$$ every month

As you know that online marketing is not complete without squeeze pages/optin pages or landing pages. We need them for every marketing campaign in the industry. There are some fabulous choices available to us for making these pages designing whole business around them. Like Lead Pages, Clickfunnel etc. These are highly professional systems to cater all our business needs and every one of us needs to use them to build a highly optimized business system. But let’s accept there is a cost associated with these systems and on a monthly basis that builds up to a point where if you are not generating much, that monthly cost can compel you to get away from the online business. So when you are new to online marketing and don’t have much budget to spend on you definitely need to spend some time to learn how you can build squeeze pages free of cost, and that is exactly what I am going to teach you in this article. So please Read the whole article, it will definitely help you save some dollars in the end. It’s a long article but most of the work described here is a just one-time job, once you have done all the step then actual creation of squeeze page/ opt in page doesn’t take more than five minutes. You can make any design with this method and what’s more the method makes you more confident about your technical skill that is also as important as your passion to make money online.

Before starting I would like to assume that

  • You have a domain and a hosting account and have installed WordPress to your website, If not please go to NameCheap for purchasing a domain and hosting, NameCheap is the best when it comes to value for money, You don’t need a high profile domain or expensive cloud hosting for this purpose neither a .com domain if you are just using it to build squeeze pages/ opt in pages. So you are pretty fine with any domain name as long as it does not cost you much. the domain which I have used for making this creating this article was bought for only 68 cents. It’s just like free, isn’t it? And their hosting also just costs me 10$ per year and I am hosting 3 domains with them. It,s up to you, you can use any other hosting company as well, the method will remain the same.
  • You have some knowledge of editing your WordPress website like adding pages, posts etc.
  • You have some knowledge how to use control panel of your hosting account to transfer files to your website.
  • You have an account setup with a professional autoresponder service like GetResponse. If not please go to GetReponse and register for a free trial for one month. Without autoresponder account, this article will not have any usefulness for you.

Now let’s start our tutorial with the first step in which we shall;

1. Create A WordPress Blank Page Without Header, Menu, Sidebar, and Footer

Now I shall guide you how to create a WordPress page with no header, menu, sidebar, and footer etc. As we need a clean in which we only want The content that we have entered in the page editor it may be a form or a background or may be a combination of both.

Step A – We need to have a WordPress clean page template file.

For this purpose, just simply download this file “page-cleanpage.php”. It’s a PHP script file to give us the option of a clean page in our WordPress page editor.

Step B- Upload the file to your WordPress theme folder.

Now upload the downloaded file page-cleanpage.php to your WordPress theme folder (with the file manager of your hosting’s control panel or FTP), the path is wp-content -> themes -> yourthemename. Here your themename is the theme folder which you are currently using on your website, not just installed theme.

Step C – Select the template in the WordPress page editor

If every thing mentioned above is done correctly then go the WordPress page editor, Page Attributes tab, select Clean Page from the Template drop-down list. If this option is not there then please see if you have done the step A and B correctly or not.

You can see the demonstration of this step in the following youtube video

2. Install A WordPress Background Image Plugin

The WordPress background image plugin which we shall install for this purpose in named as background per page plugin. But first we need to download this plugin from their official site so click the link below to go to the plugin’s official page and click download then save Background Per Page WordPress plugin to any location you want in your pc.

Download the plugin from the link below.

After you have saved the plugin zip file to your pc, go to your WordPress dash board and click on plugins from the side menu bar. Click on new and then upload plugin. Now you need to upload the file you just downloaded from the above-mentioned link. Click install plugin and after you see the installation successful screen just activate this plugin. To see if it’s working or not just make a new page in WordPress and scroll your mouse down to see if the option to upload image files for background has appeared or not. If the option is there then your plugin is definitely working. Now it’s time to upload a good image to this page so just upload your desired image and preview your changes to see if it suits your need or not.

See the video below demonstration of the above mention method

Time to go to our next step which is!

3. Install  Autoresponder Email Elient GETRESPONSE WordPress Plugin

First of all, go to your WordPress backend and click plugins, then click add new and in the search field type your autoresponder email client name which in our case is getresponse integration.

Now install the plugin and activate.

After Activation click on settings of this plugin. There you need to input your getresponse integration API for the plugin to integrate your forms with your website.

For this purpose go to and sign in with your username and password. After logging in click on your profile picture and then click integration from the drop-down menu. Now from the left menu column/bar click on API and you will be presented with an API code, just copy that code be selecting it and then paste this code into WordPress integration plugin’s setting.

Now you have success fully integrated your autoresponder email client, which is getresponse in our case, with your WordPress site.

See the below video of this step.

You have done the hard part now it’s time to make some beautiful squeeze pages.

Make A Free Squeeze Page/ Optin Page

It’s very easy just go to your WordPress backend and click on pages. Add a new page give it whatever name you want and then click on edit. Now on the right side of your screen inside page attributes window click on the clean page template.

Now you have a page without menu, header, footer or anything else. Now we need to insert a getresponse form in this page which will have our desired text and email field to collect the email and send this email to our getresponse auto responder. For inserting the form we surely will need one and to create that form again go to and sign in. In the top bar, you will see forms and surveys tab just click on it. Now you have hundreds of form templates at your disposal.

To create a form, choose Forms in the Dashboard menu and choose to Create new. Click List Builder Wizard to choose the web form template. To adjust the form color to the color scheme of your website, use the Color Magic option on the left.

The form templates are arranged in categories on the left. Whether you want a form for event sign-ups, order form, or newsletter sign-up, we’ve got you included everything for you.

Click any category on the left to see the available templates on the right and then you can change it to match your choice. Practice Layout types to view templates in different sizes to select your perfect match. Hover over any template you like and then click Use Template to continue editing.

Inside the web form designer, you can substitute the placeholder text with your custom text and place the elements using drag-and-drop.

On the right side of the screen inside the web form designer there are the advanced editing tools in 3 categories:

1) Add field

  • Add predefined custom fields, designed for your comfort by the GetResponse system.
  • Use your current fields or you can create new.
  • You can add static elements like dividers, pictures, custom text blocks, privacy badges, trust seals, and counters.

To exclude any element, hover the mouse over it and click the trash can icon on the element box. If the form is too short in length to add more fields, drag the bottom corner to increase its length. Or use the Item spacing option in the Layout section to generate space between fields.

2) Layout

This section allows you to edit the layout and structure of your form.

Choose a form type: embedded in our case will be the right option for making a squeeze page.

You can also use other layouts like a light box, or pop-over for other places on your website. Optionally, choose display properties such as effect and delay. To see the editing options of an element just click on it or click away to highlight the entire web form.

3) Style

Change the form colorset a border radius, or use a picture as the background (We ll do this in our case). Click any field to view advanced editing options.

To edit the form settings, click the gear icon in the top right corner of the editor. Edit the opt-in settings for the current form, set up a thank you page or add custom website where you want your subscribers to go after giving their email address and choose time-based auto responder settings.

Choose Save or Publish at the top right. In the final step, you will find the JavaScript code to paste into the <body> element of an HTML web page but we don’t need to paste this code in our case. But you can use it for different uses on your website once you get familiar with its functioning.

After doing all this go back to the page editor in WordPress and see for getresponse integration button in formatting option of the page editor. Click on that and you will see the name of the form you just created inside getresponse click on it and some code will be pasted in the body section of your page.

Now we need to we need to insert a background image behind this form. For this purpose inside the page editor, scroll down and you will see options of Background Per Page plugin we install before. Now click on upload file and choose whatever image you want as the background. You can tinker with other options as well to suit your need. Now preview your page and adjust the placement of form according to your need.
